Manage Teams
Create, update, archive, reactivate, and delete Teams.
Company Owners and Company Admins manage Teams from Team > Teams in Command Centre.
Create a Team
- Open All Teams.
- Select Create Team.
- Enter the Team name.
- Review the generated slug.
- Select an existing active user as the initial Team Owner.
- Select Create Team.
The slug is the permanent workspace identifier. You can change the Team name later, but you cannot change its slug.
Every Team starts with an active Team Owner. A Company Admin who creates a Team also receives a Company Full access grant for that Team.
Manage people
Open a Team and select Members.
- Use Add an existing user when the person already has an active Team OS account. Choose Member or Admin. The person does not need another invite or password.
- Use the selected Team's main Members section to invite a new user by email. The invite link is valid for 7 days and can be used once.
Team Owners are managed from Settings. Add another active owner before changing an owner's role. Every active Team must keep at least one active owner.
See Members for the full invite flow.
Update or archive a Team
Open a Team and select Settings.
- Save name changes the display name. It does not change the slug.
- Archive blocks normal Team access and Team authority changes. It also cancels pending company access requests for that Team.
- Reactivate restores the Team so authorized users can manage and use it again.
Company Owners and Company Admins need Full access to update, archive, or reactivate an existing Team.
Delete a Team permanently
Only the Company Owner can delete a Team permanently.
- Archive the Team.
- Wait at least 30 days.
- Open Settings.
- Select Delete permanently.
- Enter the exact Team name.
- Confirm the deletion again.
Permanent deletion cannot be undone. Normal backup retention still applies.
Team data and earlier Team audit events are removed. One minimal
team.deleted Company audit event remains.
Transfer Company Ownership
The current Company Owner can transfer ownership to an active Company Admin.
- Open Team > Teams > Company Admins.
- Open the target admin's action menu.
- Select Transfer ownership.
- Confirm the transfer.
The target becomes the Company Owner. The previous owner becomes a Company Admin. Direct Team roles do not change.
Recover a missing Company Owner
Use recovery only when no active Company Owner exists. Run it in the Team OS maintenance environment:
npm run company:owner-recover -- --user <EMAIL_OR_USER_ID>The target must be an active user with a working Team OS account. The command refuses to create a second active Company Owner.
Next: First Team and owner
